Founded in 1981, and fully incorporated in 1995, security guard patrol

Scott McDonald, CEO
Scott began his Security and Law Enforcement career in 1986 with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, serving with distinction as a patrol deputy for over seven years. In 1993 Scott became a private investigator and worked for several prominent attorneys and national insurance companies before going into the security field. He joined a regional security company as District Manager and was instrumental in their rapid growth in California ’s Central Valley.

By December 1994, Scott was eager to run his own security company. He purchased Monument Security, heading up Operations and Business Development. Scott took the initiative to understand and become fully trained in every position in the company and is instrumental in their solid and sustainable growth. Scott reorganized and incorporated Monument in 1995. We are celebrating 30 years of outstanding service and Mr. McDonald is now sole owner and CEO.

In December 2008, Mr. Scott McDonald was appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the Private Security Disciplinary Review Committee (DRC) with the Department of Consumer Affairs. Scott is responsible for upholding the laws that govern the private security industry in California . He is keenly aware of current and evolving trends in legislation in regard to the security industry and therefore upholds every aspect of the law in his own operation.

Scott holds an Administration of Justice Degree from Shasta College , is a Licensed Private Investigator and is a graduate of the Butte County Police Academy . He is and active member and past Chapter Chairman for the Sacramento Chapter of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS). He is also a member of CAI and Sacramento Crime Alert.

Scott was featured in the September 11, 2006 issue of Time Magazine where he discussed the use of GPS in watching the activity of employees. He also gave a live interactive interview with the BBC in discussing the same topic which was broadcast world wide. He continues to find new ways to integrate security with technology in achieving a better way to service client’s needs for security and safety.

Connie has over ninteen years experience in Loss Prevention. She started her career as a Loss Prevention Agent for K-Mart and Sears while going to college. She has worked for several years detaining shoplifters, employees and vendors for theft. She has extensive personal experience in the practical obstacles in reducing retail theft. After graduating from California State University, Sacramento with her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology, Connie worked with Target Stores as an Assets Protection Team Leader for eight years. During her tenure with Target she worked at several high risk, high shrink stores and was promoted to District Loss Prevention Trainer and Auditor. She has authored several training and tracking programs that were adopted company wide. In 2003 Connie went to work for Six Flags Theme Parks as the Manager of Loss Prevention for Northern California and was responsible for the Loss Prevention Programs at two Water Parks in Northern California and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo.  This position involved the oversight of dozens of undercover LP agents, Investigators, Secret Shoppers and Auditors. In her tenure with Six Flags her departments successfully prosecuted several hundred shoplifters and employees for theft. Connie is a Wicklander-Zulawski certified Interviewer who has personally interviewed over 3,000 people involved in criminal activities during her career. She was awarded the Six Flags MVP award in 2004 and her team was credited with a 25% shrink reduction within 2 years of her taking over the Northern California Loss Prevention programs. Connie is actively involved in the Sacramento chapter of ASIS (American Society of Industrial Security) and has a passion for knowledge and continued growth in her field.
